The Kent State Transfer Team and campus community members will be on hand at Notre Dame College on Wednesday, March 13 from 12:30 – 5 p.m. to meet with you and help you with the application process. You will also learn about credit transferring, explore scholarship opportunities and discover what it is like to be a student at Kent State.

Transfer Credit Evaluation

The policy for "Transfer Credit Evaluation" in the University catalog states:

"An official evaluation of transfer credit will not be completed until students have been admitted to the University and have submitted official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions previously attended."

Selection Process

The OTA program admits two cohorts of students per year of 25 students each to the technical study portion—Summer admission and Fall admission.  The Summer admission cohort includes the full-time and part-time hybrid tracks with labs at the Ashtabula campus.  The Fall admission cohort is the traditional face-to-face cohort with lectures and labs held on the East Liverpool campus.  If there are more qualified applicants than available student slots, applicants will be ranked on a point scale.  Points are assigned based on grade point average (GPA), writing sample and comp

Professional Background Checks

Incoming students of the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program must acknowledge the mandatory federal and civilian background checks that are administered with acceptance into the program. Following notification of acceptance, but prior to the end of the first semester, students must submit documentation of these background checks. This process must be repeated during the second year for Ohio licensure.
