We are excited to launch the 2026 Performance Management Review Cycle for classified and unclassified employees. Performance management is intended to create an ongoing dialogue for supervisors and employees to review job duties, assess job performance, discuss career goals and more. A team of 5 students in Human Resources Business and Consulting Projects, taught by Associate Professor Mark Whitmore, Ph.D., are conducting a brief survey to better understand Kent’s employment identity. They hope to learn what makes Kent State’s culture, values and employee experience stand out. Your insights will help highlight the strengths that define our workplace and support efforts to attract, engage and retain talent. Please complete the survey by March 16 to assist them in this semester-long project and real-world learning experience.

Town & Gown Tidbit: Leadership conference

The Leadership Portage County 2026 Level Up Leadership Conference will take place April 2, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Kent State University Hotel. This one-day event brings together emerging and established leaders from across Portage County for thought-provoking sessions, interactive workshops, and meaningful networking opportunities. Participants will gain practical tools and fresh perspectives to strengthen their leadership skills and community impact.
