Mission and Objectives for School Counseling

THE SCHOOL COUNSELING PROGRAM MISSION STATEMENT:


The mission of the School Counseling program at Kent State University is to prepare research-informed, ethically sound, and multiculturally responsive licensed professional school counselors in K - 12 institutions who are responsible for implementing comprehensive school counseling programs and delivering individual and group counseling within diverse school systems.

​ Members of the Golden Flashes Football Team’s Leadership Council recently visited with students at the LeBron James Family Foundation’s I Promise School in Akron, Ohio, where they checked out the school’s facilities and spent time reading to youngsters.  The visit was part of an ongoing collaboration between Kent State and the foundation.
