Celebrate Earth Day all Day on April 22

All are invited to a full day of Earth Day celebrations on April 22. Start with Earth Fest from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Risman Plaza. Enjoy live music, booths, hands-on experiences, and even the Zero Emission Vehicle. Then from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Environmental Science and Design Research Institute Research Showcase will be held in the Integrated Sciences Building. Sponsored by The Nature Conservancy, the showcase highlights innovative sustainability research conducted by members of the Kent State community.

Fix-It Kent Community Repair Workshop

Join DI on Wednesday, April 15 from 4-7 p.m. for Fix-It Kent, a hands-on repair workshop where experienced coaches will help you repair your everyday objects. Whether you're tackling a wobbly chair, a torn jacket, or a gadget that’s stopped working, our volunteer repair experts will guide you through the process. Repair coaches from SPIN will also be on hand to help with bicycle and scooter repair and maintenance.

Town & Gown Tidbit - 2026 Hunger Challenge

The 2026 Hunger Challenge is underway! This month, Kent Social Services and the Center of Hope in Ravenna are going head-to-head in a friendly competition to strengthen their food pantries and support neighbors facing food insecurity. Faculty and staff are encouraged to step up to the challenge, help surpass last year’s impact, and make a meaningful difference in our community. Donations of money or non-perishable food items can be made to either organization. In-person donations are accepted Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.
