The Kent State University Museum has received an award from the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation to fund a comprehensive energy audit of its historic 1928 building, Rockwell Hall. Following in the footsteps of naturalist Charles Darwin, Kent State students got to experience things they have studied in their classes live and up close on an education-abroad trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. With faculty from Kent State’s Department of Biological Sciences students traveled to the edge of the world this summer to hike on volcanoes, walk through lava tunnels, snorkel with sea lions, see exotic birds and stroll, somewhat slowly, with giant tortoises.
