Attention Flashes 101 instructors! The Learning, Engagement and Belonging unit is excited to offer new in-classroom opportunities for Flashes 101 courses this fall. All courses are 45 minutes in length, perfect for adding to your Flashes 101 course schedule. Offerings include Belonging 101, Crafting a Community Agreement, Discovering our Values, and more. Flashes 101 Belonging Boost Offerings
- Belonging 101 for Flashes 101: Wondering where to start your learning journey on understanding belonging? This introductory session will allow participants to learn basic language, concepts, and explore why developing a sense of belonging is important (45 minutes).
- Belonging 201 for Flashes 101: How can we create environments where people feel a sense of belonging? During this session, participants will identify relevant practices and strategies needed to cultivate belonging (45 minute follow up to Belonging 101).
- Crafting a Community Agreement (Part 1 & 2) (2 sessions) A community agreement helps groups work towards a collective vision for how they engage with one another. Facilitators will guide the group through the creation process, which includes individual reflection and small & large group conversation. Groups may also have facilitated conversations around accountability and implementation. The process will take two class sessions (45 minutes each).
- Discovering our Values for Flashes 101: What are your values? Where do they come from? And how do you live them on campus? Join this session to reflect on these questions and more! Come ready to engage with yourself and others (45 minutes).
- Wellness Workshop: Dope! Feel like there’s a lot going on and need some tools to manage? Come learn about the circles of influence and dopamine menus and explore how you can incorporate them into your wellness practice (45 minutes).
