Kent State University College of Public Health was established in 2009 to educate and train students to meet the current and projected shortage of public health professionals in Ohio and the nation. It is one of only two colleges of public health in Ohio and the first to offer a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. Our academic programs integrate theory and practice equipping graduates with the knowledge and skills requested for the health challenges in the 21st century.

Undergraduate Public Health Certificate
The Undergraduate Public Health certificate integrates key aspects of preventing disease, prolonging life, and promoting health through the organized efforts and informed choices of society, organizations, communities, and individuals. The certificate program is aimed at students interested in gaining exposure to the field of public health who do not intend to pursue a bachelor's degree or who already hold a bachelor's or associate degree and wish to broaden their knowledge of public health. Certificate graduates understand emerging issues in public health, the social and behavioral aspects of preventing disease, environmental health concepts, the changing U.S. health care system, and the monitoring of diseases in the community through applied public health research.
Master of Public Health (MPH) - Health Policy & Management (HPM)
Students in the Online MPH specializing in Health Policy and Management will develop the skills necessary to address public health risks and develop effective health services, research, health policy analysis, and health care planning and management.
Master of Public Health (MPH) Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS)
Students in the Online MPH specializing in Social and Behavioral Sciences will develop the skills necessary to create and evaluate effective health improvement programs. The program helps students understand the personal, social, and environmental risk factors that result in poor health across the lifespan. A practicum experience provides real-world experience to prepare students for careers in health education and wellness, occupational health and safety, health coaching in clinical and non-clinical settings.
Master of Public Health (MPH) Epidemiology
Kent State's MPH in Epidemiology online program prepares you to analyze the distribution and determinants of disease, disabilities, and death in populations. Our faculty are experts in epidemiology methods and biostatistics. Clinical partners provide expertise through web-based lectures and can also serve as research mentors. All faculty hold advanced degrees and have years of research experience in cardiovascular and pulmonary disease, neurological disorders, infectious disease, pharmacology, regulatory affairs, and other areas.
Master of Science (M.S.) in Clinical Epidemiology
The Master of Science degree in Clinical Epidemiology is a STEM-designated advanced degree that trains students in the epidemiology and biostatistical methods related to clinical trials and clinical research. Students will learn advanced observational and experimental study designs and understand disease prevention, development, prognosis, and treatment. In addition, students will master and apply good clinical practices, clinical trials design, management, statistical analysis, study monitoring, pharmaceutical research, and regulations related to clinical research.
