Program Overview
PROGRAM GOALS:
- Prepare a skilled workforce to meet the demands of the semiconductor industry in NEO (Northeast Ohio).
- Develop solutions to support Intel's presence in Ohio and address industry labor shortages.
- Enhance educational offerings, create new curricula, and support students in launching or advancing their careers in the semiconductor field.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:
- Collaborative Network: Our program brings together a consortium of Northeast Ohio (NEO) colleges and universities to leverage their research, curriculum, and experiential learning resources. Through partnerships, we aim to strengthen semiconductor and microelectronics innovation and supply chain ecosystems locally.
- Funding and Support: Kent State University has secured a three-year, $1.1 million grant from Intel to drive workforce development initiatives.
- Educational Experiences: Our program provides high-quality educational experiences, including hands-on semiconductor production learning opportunities. We offer various educational pathways, including microcredentials, associate, bachelors, and graduate degrees, to accommodate diverse student needs.
