Ted Karam, CTE Instructor, Theodore Roosevelt High School

"The Pathways to Semiconductor Careers micro-credential course at Kent State University was a valuable, eye-opening experience for my sophomore, junior and senior Electronics, Robotics, and Programming CTE students who come from 6 different school districts. It complemented the Ohio Department of Education standards I teach, while introducing students to semiconductor industry history, manufacturing techniques, cleanroom best practices, and exciting career pathways. Students especially enjoyed the hands-on cleanroom experience, where they got to mask, etch, and take home their own etched silicon wafer. This course has had a significant impact on my students' understanding of semiconductors and their interest in future opportunities. I highly recommend continuing this program for the benefit of both students and the growing semiconductor industry."
