Graduate Degrees
The School of Theatre and Dance at Kent State University offers graduate level training programs in Acting for the Returning Professional or Design and Technology.
The School's annual production season serves as an on-site laboratory for graduate students to develop and refine their technique and skills. Additionally, Porthouse Theatre, Kent State University's summer professional theatre, provides graduate students with the opportunity to work and learn in a professional producing theatre on site at Kent State.
The Acting for the Returning Professional and Design and Technology graduate programs allow students to pursue in-depth training in their specific concentration in preparation for a career in the performing arts. Students applying to the MFA program in Design and Technology may choose to concentrate their studies in the areas of Costume Design, Lighting Design, Scenic Design, or Theatre Technology.
