10:15 – 11 a.m.: School Tour with Student Ambassadors (Roe Green Lobby)
11 – 11:50 a.m.: Theatre: Script Analysis (Room D022/D305)
11 a.m. – 12:40 p.m.: Dance: Ballet 4A (Room D123)
11 a.m. – 12:40 p.m.: Dance: Ballet 5A (Room D122)
12:05 – 12:55 p.m.: Making of Theatre (Room D022)
12:30 – 1 p.m.: 30 Minute Lunch Break

Additional Instructions

  • Plan to arrive on time to allow time for obtaining a parking pass and check in with Student Ambassadors and Faculty in the Roe Green Lobby.
  • Parking instructions: Park in the C [commuter] Lot on the south side of the Center for Performing Arts, then obtain a parking pass being held for you in the lobby.
  • This program is designed for high school juniors, seniors, and transfer students.  Attendees will observe selected classes.  Parents are also welcomed to observe however, space is limited.
  • Students may attend a 1 p.m. class or take additional time for lunch.  Bring a bag lunch or money for lunch. Eastway Cafeteria is near the building.
  • The program ends at 2:30 p.m.; however, students may leave the program earlier. Kent State offers a 90-minute campus tour at 2 p.m. This needs to be scheduled in advance and separately here:  https://www.kent.edu/admissions/tours-events

Free High School Master Class Day

August 4, 2024 | 12 - 5 p.m.

Calling all high school dancers at the intermediate/advanced level! Spend the day taking two master classes led by KSU faculty.

Your day will include:

  • Exploring multiple styles of dance in classes
  • Attending a Q&A with KSU dance faculty and students
  • Visiting our studios and touring our facilities
  • Discovering degree options of KSU’s dance program

Join our dance faculty and learn about opportunities that await you at Kent State! Bring appropriate dance clothes and shoes, footless tights/leggings, socks, water and snacks. Dance @Kent State: Early Start Dance Master Classes

The School of Theatre and Dance at Kent State University is offering a special series of six Dance @Kent State: Early Start Dance Master Classes, August 13-15, 2024 for intermediate and advanced dancers studying at Kent State as well as high school-age dancers from the surrounding community. 

Participants can take up to two masterclasses each evening: Intermediate/Advanced Ballet with DeAnn Petruschke and Intermediate /Advanced Contemporary Jazz with Erin Smith.

You can choose individual classes at $10 each or all six classes for $50.
