L. Taylor Ashton-Beil
Biography
L. Taylor Ashton-Beil, a dance maker and native of Cleveland, Ohio graduated with honors from Kent State University with a B.F.A. in Dance Performance in 2017. Ashton-Beil received her M.F.A. in dance from Hollins University in conjunction with the Master of Contemporary Dance Education program at Frankfurt University for Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt, Germany. Currently, L. Teaches Jazz Styles I, Dance and Technology at Kent State University and is a Teaching Artist at the Dancing Wheels School. Ashton-Beil was a 2019-2020 SPACES/Andy Warhol Foundation Satellite grant recipient. Ashton’s current work in process, ataba is a multi-medium performance art piece that is anchored in the migration and displacement of Syrian refugees, drawing on her Syrian heritage and family migration story.
