Mark Nathanson

Mark Nathanson is a composer and multi-instrumentalist having studied drums/percussion at The Cleveland Institute of  Music 1968-1970, and at The Drummers Collective in NYC with Mike Clarke (Herbie Hancock), Percy Jones (Brand-X), Bobby Wiener and Bob Moses in summer 1984. He graduated with a performance degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1992 studying with Skip Hadden (Weather Report) and Ian Froman. He performed in Boston, including the world ensemble The Cast of Characters, Trio Bangalore, Gary Burton, The Mallards and Kirton of the East Coast Chant.

Theater shows in Boston include "Menopause The Musical," "Jacques Brel is Alive" and "Well and Living in Paris" and served as music director for an original production of "The Beatles's Yellow Submarine" at the Wards School in Newton Ma. He has accompanied dance classes & workshops at Harvard/Radcliff-Art, Director Claire Molinari and Boston Conservatory for 8 years. He has accompanied  Paul Taylor and Mark Morris Dance Company in workshops at Brookline High School, MA. He has performed in many dance performances and in improv settings. He has also accompanied Gabriel Roth's 5 Rhythms under Margaux Scaleki for many years. He has played with the Boston Improv Comedy Troupe for many years.

Tours include Broadway Production of "The King & I" from 1999-2000, "Clyde Beatty-Cole Bros Circus" in 1987 (music boot camp!) and Jump Blues legend Big J. McNealy in 1994. He played with the Cleveland band "Uzizi" in Ireland in 2017  and performed on a Holland-America cruise ship Glacier Bay in summer of 2006. In 2004, he was accepted onto the roster of performers at Cirque du Soleil.
