Tamara L. Honesty Designs Set for PBS Premiere of "Frank Ferrante's Groucho"

Kent State University School of Theatre and Dance professor Tamara L. Honesty is putting audiences into the world of Grouch Marx through her set design for "Frank Ferrante’s Groucho," a filmed version of the long-running stage comedy show "An Evening With Groucho Marx."

“Frank Ferrante’s Groucho” will debut nationally on public television April 1, 2022 and stars Frank Ferrante as famed comedian and film icon Groucho Marx, in a two-act, 90-minute interactive comedy. Honesty designed a set that encapsulates both the history and tenor of the show while seamlessly integrating the modern convention of video. The result works beautifully! The performance was filmed at the two-time Tony Award-winning Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.

"Frank Ferrante's Groucho" will be released on DVD April 1, 2022 and will air on public televisions stations across the country, with airings planned in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Minneapolis and more. The public television broadcast is sponsored in part by the Buxton Center for Bainbridge Performing Arts.
