Kyle Lovell
Biography
Kyle Lovell joined the staff of the School of Theatre and Dance in 2018. Having served as an academic advisor for Kent State University since 2013, he now advised all student in the School of Music and the School of Theatre and Dance. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from Case Western Reserve University and a Master of Arts in Anthropology (Archaeology) from the University of California, Riverside. He is currently completing his PhD in Anthropology (Archaeology) from the University of California, Riverside. His dissertation focuses on state formation at the ancient Mesoamerican site of Teotihuacan (100-550 CE) and the nature of their interactions with other Mesoamerican peoples at that time.
Although Kyle began his career in higher education as an academic researcher and instructor, over the years he has transitioned into higher education administration and working more directly with students. As an academic advisor, Kyle assists students with course selection, degree requirements, exceptions, graduation, and any other academic related issues they may encounter. He also serves as a liaison to assist students in getting connected with campus resources, as needed.
