Kent State University graduate student Angelique Wong’s designs were judged the best in show at “Haute for the House,” a runway show the School of Fashion staged as part of a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Ohio.

The show, held in Cleveland on Feb. 8, featured fashions from 16 students from Kent State's internationally renowned School of Fashion. Wong’s dress designs received the most votes from event attendees, and she was named the winner of a $1,000 award for Best in Show.

School of Fashion administrators and Ronald McDonald House Charities officials surprised Wong with the check on Tuesday.

Wong received her Bachelor of Arts in fashion design in May 2022. Currently, she is enrolled in the College of Communication and Information pursuing a master’s degree in the School of Emerging Media and Technology.
