Students braved the cold weather Thursday night to attend Fall Fest, an event held by the Flash Activities Board (FAB) on the Centennial Green. The event featured coffee mug giveaways, horse-and-carriage rides and snacks.
A fall-themed photo booth was set up with hay bales and pumpkins so attendees could take pictures. Miniature pumpkins and s’more supplies were passed out to eager students that gathered near a fire pit.
The FAB team had started their work early to prepare for the event.
“We started at about 10 this morning,” Jillian Mt. Castle, president of FAB, said. “We picked up the pumpkins and hay bales and then started setting up tables.”
Mt. Castle had experience with FAB and Fall Fest, but this was her first time directly planning the event.
“This is an annual event that the Flash Activities Board hosts,” Mt. Castle said. “We just wanted to bring a pumpkin patch to campus.”
While planning Fall Fest, FAB organizers had an event in mind that was different from the others they have hosted.
“I just want everyone to have fun and hang around,” Mt. Castle said. “It’s a little different from other FAB events we’ve had because we want people to stay and hang out.”
FAB is a student organization that strives to create events to give students a unique campus experience. FAB plans more than 100 events a year on campus.
