Five years ago, Kent State's Class of 2023 exited their convocation event and assembled on Manchester Field to create an enormous "K," establishing a new university tradition. To kick off this fall semester, Kent State's Class of 2028 once again came together to "Make the "K."
The Marching Golden Flashes added music and excitement and the Golden Flashes Cheerleaders, along with Flash the Mascot and President Todd Diacon, Ph.,D., formed an underscore to the giant letter.
Classes were virtual in Fall 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, so a digital, composite "K" was created using student's I.D. photos for the Class of 2024. The in-person "K" returned in 2021 for Kent State's Class of 2025, in 2022 for the Class of 2026 and again in 2023 for the Class of 2027.
