Flashes of spring can be seen all over campus in blooming flowers and budding trees. While originally planted to be in full bloom for the beginning of May, the daffodils on the Kent Campus' Daffodil Hill now begin blooming in late March and early April, due to ongoing changes in Ohio's climate.
The USDA plant hardiness zones for Ohio have been subtly changing for decades and were most recently redefined by the USDA in 2023.
University Facilities Management and the Grounds Crew care for the plant life on the Kent Campus and keep it looking beautiful year round.
