IN A FLASH: Making the K

The K for the Class of 2029

 

Taking a drone photo of an entire incoming class of students forming a giant "K" is a relatively new tradition at Kent State.

It happens immediately after Convocation with all students filing out of the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center to a large, open field on campus, like Centennial Green.

The director of Kent State's Marching Golden Flashes helps direct the students to form the "K" with assistance from members of the marching band, outlining the edges of the shape.

This is the view from inside the "K," which is made up of more than 4,000 new Golden Flashes.
