Furman is an acclaimed, London-based artist known for his signature use of color and patterns in storytelling. He, along with Mimms Scavnicky and Hershberger Yoder led Kent State architecture and fashion students in a hands-on, immersive workshop as part of the university's annual Thomas Schroth Visiting Artist Series.

The collaboration offered a priceless opportunity for students to engage directly with an internationally recognized artist and produce artwork that will take center stage during one of the university's showcase events for KSU Fashion Week 2026: the Study Away Fashion Show on April 29 at 2:30 p.m.

The gateway is part of the “Sensual Surfaces” exhibit that includes work by Furman, Mimms Scavnicky, and Hershberger Yoder and remains on display until June 26 in The John Elliot Center for Architecture and Environmental Design’s Armstrong Gallery.
