IN A FLASH: U.S. Transportation Secretary Buttigieg at Kent State

This summer, U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg made his first visit to Kent State.

He was accompanied by U.S. Representative, and Kent State alumna, Emilia Sykes. Together, they toured Kent State's College of Aeronautics and Engineering with Dean Christina Bloebaum, Ph.D., and Kent State University President Todd Diacon, Ph.D. There, they saw demonstrations of the college's cutting-edge technology and met with students and several local mayors.

Later, Diacon, with Alison Caplan, director of the May 4 Visitors Center, led Buttigieg and Sykes on a tour of the center.
