A post by @kent.fashionschool on Instagram showcased some of the original creations from Matthew Williams, a senior fashion design major from Chicago. He shared his experience studying at Kent State's Paris American Academy in Kent State's School of Fashion, within the university's College of the Arts.
Williams said, "I chose to study abroad at the American Academy because I was very interested in the Couture techniques they were teaching. I also wanted to immerse myself in another culture and explore it. At Kent, we studied paintings, architecture and monuments that are in Europe, but it is such a different experience when you can actually go and visit the places in real time."
"After studying in Paris for an entire year, I knew I had made the right decision," he said. "It helped prepare me for the collection that I am currently working on and taught me so much that I wouldn't have learned if I did not take the opportunity to study at the Paris American Academy. Such a great experience"
