In a strong collaboration aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for students, Kent State University and Notre Dame College have joined forces to streamline the transfer process and create a seamless pathway to higher education. This partnership promises to open doors for Notre Dame College students seeking to further their academic pursuits and achieve their career goals.
With its commitment to providing award-winning support and access for all, Kent State has pledged to offer a host of benefits to Notre Dame College students who have accrued 60 or more credit hours. For those with fewer than 60 credits, the invitation is extended to apply to Kent State as transfer students, with a commitment to facilitating a smooth transition.
“One of the standout features of this collaboration is Kent State’s commitment to accepting all non-remedial courses taken at Notre Dame College for college credit at both the undergraduate and graduate levels,” said Sean Broghammer, Kent State’s vice president for enrollment management. “These students deserve to have their hard work and academic achievements duly recognized and rewarded.”
Kent State has streamlined the admission process for Notre Dame College students in good academic standing, waiving all application fees and guaranteeing admission to those meeting specified GPA requirements. This eliminates barriers to entry, providing deserving students with access to a world-class education.
Recognizing the importance of financial support, Kent State has pledged to extend transfer scholarships and need-based aid to Notre Dame College students, striving to match or exceed the net tuition costs they currently incur. This commitment underscores Kent State’s dedication to making higher education affordable and accessible to all.
Additionally, Kent State will assist Notre Dame College students with completing their programs on the same timeline or even faster than previously possible, wherever feasible. This commitment to expediting graduation underscores Kent State’s focus on student success and timely degree completion.
To comply with accreditation standards, Kent State will work closely with its institutional accreditor, the Higher Learning Commission, to review enrollment and credit requirements for Notre Dame College students as necessary.

Comprehensive student support services, including advising and academic assistance, will be extended by Kent State to Notre Dame College students, assisting them in navigating their transfer, enabling a smooth transition. Kent State also will deploy dedicated staff and faculty to collaborate with Notre Dame College counterparts, providing individualized support and guidance to students, faculty, advisors, admissions and financial aid staff throughout the transfer process.
The Kent State Transfer Team and campus community members will be on hand at Notre Dame College from 12:30-5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, to meet with students and assist with the application process. Information will be provided about transferring credits, exploring scholarship opportunities and discovering what student life is like at Kent State.
A comprehensive list of Kent State’s academic programs available to Notre Dame College students is being provided for reference, offering students a wide array of options to choose from as they continue their academic journeys. In addition to academic support, Kent State is committed to facilitating the attainment of licensure or certification for students in applicable programs, ensuring students are well equipped to enter the workforce upon graduation.
