Vaneet Kaur, Ph.D., assistant professor of Management and Information Systems at Kent State University’s Stark Campus, recently was featured in The Repository, a Canton, Ohio, newspaper, for her work on promoting business ideas to help the local economy.
Kaur prepared members of her upper-division business consulting and practicum class to compete in Stark Tank 2022, an event sponsored by the Stark Education Partnership and modeled after the television show “Shark Tank,” in which entrepreneurs present their business proposals to a team of professionals.
In Stark Tank, entrepreneurial students presented their ideas to a team of Stark County Sharks, who are successful local entrepreneurs searching for the best entrepreneurial ideas in the community.
Kaur’s team won the 2022 competition and a $10,000 award for its proposal for an automatic drum tuner.
