When Brooke Denune started thinking about her career, she knew two things: she wanted to do something that would support her love of animals and she wanted to have her own retail store. Now, with her store By Field & Flower, Denune is achieving both those goals.
Watch Denune talking about her new shop and her products with Spectrum News 1.
A 2018 Kent State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising and a minor in marketing, Denune has made a name for herself crafting custom vegan hats. While she’s been selling her hats for three years, she now has a brick-and-mortar business in the Common Thread fashion district in Columbus, Ohio. The retail location has been open for about two months.
Denune tells Spectrum News 1 that she’s hoping that her vegan products will spark a positive change in the fashion industry. In addition to her hats being created with zero animal products, a portion of her proceeds from each sale are donated to the Bee and Butterfly Habitat Fund, which supports the conservation of wildflower habitats for bees and butterflies.
