A handful of students were up early and exercising their right to vote by casting ballots at one of two precincts located at the Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center on the Kent Campus.
That included Daphne Sugiuchi, who gave a thumbs-up after casting her ballot.
Originally from Maryland, Sugiuchi, a sophomore fashion design major, is now registered to vote in Ohio.
Polls in Ohio are open until 7:30 p.m.
Student-athletes encouraged fellow students to get out and vote.
