Michael Schwartz, Ph.D., died on Jan. 2 at the age of 86. He had served as Kent State University’s ninth president and Cleveland State University’s (CSU) fifth president. On Feb. 8, the two universities will co-host a celebration of life for Schwartz.
Event speakers will include Kent State President Todd Diacon and CSU President Laura Bloomberg. Members of both university communities and the general public are invited to attend this special event to remember and honor Schwartz.
Here is what you should know if you would like to either attend the celebration in person or view it online.
Attend in Person
The Feb. 8 event will be held in CSU’s Glasscock Family Foundation Ballroom, which is located on the third floor of CSU’s Student Center at 2121 Euclid Ave. in downtown Cleveland. Doors will open to the public at 2:30 p.m. The event will begin at 3 p.m.
Parking will be available in all campus garages and lots for the general public, except Lot 22 (Student Center garage), which will not be available for the general public. All parking rates will be in effect.
