Minor in Medical Anthropology
Kent State University’s Minor in Medical Anthropology provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the cultural, social, and biological factors that influence health and healthcare practices around the world. This interdisciplinary program explores topics such as the impact of cultural beliefs on health behaviors, the social determinants of health, and the ways in which health systems operate within different societies. Students engage in critical analysis of health-related issues, developing skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods. This minor complements majors in fields such as anthropology, public health, and nursing, equipping graduates with valuable insights for careers in healthcare, public policy, and community health advocacy.
