Community Celebrates Grad Studio Crawl 2024

At the end of the semester, graduate students from the School of Art studio M.A. and M.F.A. programs participated in the annual Grad Studio Crawl.

A key part of the studio art graduate program, the Grad Studio Crawl is an evening where students, faculty and community members are welcomed into student studios to see what the grad students have been working on throughout the semester.

Works on display included large-scale paintings and textiles, interactive sculptures, large ceramic vessels, and dynamic print series.

“It is always fascinating to see what our artists across all eight disciplines are making and the interdisciplinary approaches they are employing. Every year the Grad Crawl reinvigorates me as a maker and educator, as it allows me to see how the next generation of creators are navigating a wide range of current topics through visual and conceptual applications,” said Shawn Powell, graduate coordinator and associate professor of painting at the School of Art.
