The Academic Success Center employs students in several peer-support and campus-service roles. Whether you enjoy explaining course concepts, helping students develop learning strategies, leading group study, or creating a welcoming environment, there may be a position that fits your strengths.

Subject Tutor
Help students understand challenging course content and become more confident, independent learners.
What You’ll Do
Facilitate scheduled or drop-in tutoring for supported courses.
Ask guiding questions, explain concepts, and model problem-solving.
Help students develop strategies they can use independently.
At a Glance
Good fit if you: Enjoy explaining ideas and helping classmates learn.
Course expectation: Earned a B or higher in the courses you support.
Schedule: Minimum of approximately six hours per week; varies by course needs and availability.
Peer Academic Coach
Help students strengthen learning strategies, set goals, and stay accountable.
What You’ll Do
Facilitate individual academic coaching sessions.
Help students develop goals, strategies, and realistic action plans.
Support workshops, outreach, and other ASC initiatives.
At a Glance
Good fit if you: Enjoy listening, asking questions, and encouraging others.
Academic expectation: Active undergraduate student in good academic standing.
Schedule: Approximately 5–10 hours per week based on your availability.
PASS Leader
Lead collaborative study sessions that connect course content with effective ways to learn.
What You’ll Do
Attend lectures for an assigned PASS-supported course.
Plan and facilitate three group study sessions each week.
Create activities that help students review content and practice learning strategies.

Good fit if you: Enjoy leading groups, presenting, and creating interactive activities.
Course expectation: Earned a B or higher in the course you support.
Schedule: Approximately 10–12 hours per week, including lectures, sessions, and planning.
Front Desk Specialist
Create a welcoming first point of contact for students and visitors to the ASC.
What You’ll Do
Greet visitors and connect them with the appropriate services or staff.
Answer questions, calls, and appointment-related requests.
Support ASC programs through data entry and administrative tasks.

Good fit if you: Are welcoming, organized, dependable, and enjoy helping people.
Academic expectation: Active undergraduate student in good academic standing.
Schedule: Approximately 5–15 hours per week during ASC operating hours.
