  • What You’ll Do 

    • Facilitate scheduled or drop-in tutoring for supported courses.

Peer Academic Coach

    • Facilitate individual academic coaching sessions.  

    • Help students develop goals, strategies, and realistic action plans.

PASS Leader

Lead collaborative study sessions that connect course content with effective ways to learn. 

  • What You’ll Do 

    • Attend lectures for an assigned PASS-supported course.  

    • Plan and facilitate three group study sessions each week.  

    • Create activities that help students review content and practice learning strategies.  

  • At a Glance 

    • Good fit if you: Enjoy leading groups, presenting, and creating interactive activities.  

    • Course expectation: Earned a B or higher in the course you support.

Front Desk Specialist

Create a welcoming first point of contact for students and visitors to the ASC.

    • Greet visitors and connect them with the appropriate services or staff. 

    • Answer questions, calls, and appointment-related requests. 

    • Support ASC programs through data entry and administrative tasks.

When does the ASC typically hire?

Hiring typically happens mid-semester for the upcoming semester, meaning hiring for Spring 2027 will happen mid-Fall 2026 and hiring for Fall 2027 will happen mid-Spring 2027.  Timelines vary by role and semester, so reach out if you have specific questions about timeline or are curious if hiring has concluded for a specific semester.

Can I apply for more than one position?

Yes! Students interested in multiple roles should review the requirements for each and complete any required role-specific applications.

Do I need Federal Work-Study eligibility?

No. However, if you are eligible to use work-study aid, you can apply that to all ASC positions. 

Are there GPA, course-grade, or academic-standing requirements?

All ASC positions require you to be in good standing with the university. For roles that support specific courses (Tutoring & PASS), you must have earned a B or better in the course(s) you would like to support.  

How many hours can I work?

Schedules and time commitments vary by role, program needs, and student availability. In general, you can expect to work a minimum of 5 hours per week in most ASC roles. Additionally, you may only work up to a maximum of 28 hours per week across all campus roles you hold (20 hours per week for international students). 

Are international students eligible to apply?

Yes! International students are welcome to apply and can work up to a maximum of 20 hours per week across all positions held on campus.  

Is training provided?

Yes. Student employees complete training specific to their position and participate in continued development opportunities, attend meetings, hold observations, and receive and share feedback throughout their employment.  

What happens after I apply?

Applications are reviewed by the program’s hiring team. Selected candidates will receive information about interviews and next steps. Hiring timelines may vary by position and semester.
