Ceremony Information

Kent State University will recognize the accomplishments of the Summer Class of 2024 with ceremonies August 10.

Faculty Participation:

• Register to participate in Commencement and University Convocation
• Faculty participants in need of regalia for the Commencement ceremony can reach out to the Student Center Bookstore at 330-672-2762 for more information about rental opportunities. The deadline to rent regalia is June 28. 

Faculty Hooders:

• Doctoral students will be invited to indicate their Dissertation Director's information via email for the Summer 2024 Commencement.  Directors will receive reporting instructions from graduate@kent.edu two weeks prior to the ceremonies. The hooding will take place on stage for the ceremonies. Directors should wear academic regalia.

Faculty Marshal Participation Information:

• Overview: During the Commencement ceremony, when tapped by the ROTC cadets, marshals stand and walk the students along the designated path to the stage. Once a student crosses the stage on your side, meet them at the front of the stage and guide them either back to their seats or out of the ceremony venue depending on the ceremony.
