Outstanding Community Service Award
Description
The Kent State EHHS Community Service Award recognizes outstanding community service contributions made by faculty or administrative staff to the Kent State University community and/or local not-for-profit community organization, neighborhood group or association. Relevant activities include “leading the charge” in order to initiate a community project or University initiative, serving as an inspiration to others through continued commitment with the University or general community and/or providing a positive impact on individuals through service to the local nonprofit or University project. The charitable activities or service listed on the application cannot be part of the nominee’s job description or duties.
Eligibility
All current full-time KSU EHHS faculty and administrative staff. An individual can only receive the award once. A substantial portion of the community service activities will have occurred while in service at Kent State University. Applicants may self-nominate for this award.
Nomination Procedure
The nominator should:
- Ensure nominee’s eligibility.
- Complete Nomination Form (PDF)
- Include a 1-page (maximum) nomination letter highlighting nominee’s service to the community and the impacts of this work.
Note: If application is self-nominated, the applicant should secure an additional nomination letter from a colleague or peer supporting the application. - Include the nominee’s vita or resume emphasizing the nominee’s community service.
The committee’s decision on award recipients will be made on the basis of the above materials only.
