Starting at 11 a.m. on April 26, Kent State will hold several events across campus in celebration of Arbor Day that commemorate its environmentally friendly efforts.
In order to perform necessary maintenance on the boilers, steam transmission systems and electrical distribution systems, the Kent Campus Power Plant will be shut down beginning Sunday, May 13, at 12:01 a.m. The shutdown is expected to be completed Sunday, May 20, at 11:59 p.m. Because of the steam shutdown, most campus buildings will not have hot water to sinks and showers, heat and/or air conditioning.
