Spend a summer studying in New York City, one of the world’s fashion capitals, and gain hands-on knowledge of the global fashion industry.

About the Program

The NYC Fashion Summer Intensive is a non-credit program specifically designed for international students. 


During the NYC Fashion Summer Intensive, you will:

  • Develop an understanding of the American and New York City fashion industry​
  • Get “behind the scenes” access to fashion industry and professionals​
  • Study at a campus located in the heart of the Garment District in New York City

NYC Classes

Learn from professors with extensive fashion industry experience at brands such as Hermès, Ralph Lauren, Macy's, Marc Jacobs and Women's Wear Daily​. Visit fashion, arts, cultural sites, fashion showrooms, design studios, trend services, museums, etc.​

Program Details

  • Four-week summer study away program during July 2025​
  • Students take two non-credit classes: NYC Study Tour and NYC Fashion and Culture​
  • Classes held Monday – Thursday from 9 a.m.– 4 p.m.

  • $500 Deposit (secures spot in program) – Due Feb. 1, 2025
  • $1,000 Balance payment – Due April 1, 2025
  • Same cost Kent State students pay to study in NYC

Fee Includes:

  • Course expenses, visits, lectures and tours
  • 1-month unlimited MetroCard for subway
  • Welcome reception
  • Certificate of Completion
