Finding Graduate Courses and Online Graduate Courses

Developing a list of all the graduate courses offered in a given semester requires searching the on-line Schedule of Classes. You will be able to review which graduate courses were offered in person and online in recent semesters, as well as which courses will be offered in the coming term.

To come up with a list of graduate courses offered in the immediately preceding, current, and immediately forthcoming terms, you will need to follow the steps listed below.

  1. Click on this link to open the Schedule of Classes.
  2. Select a semester and press Submit.
  3. At the top of the page are the generalized instructions for operating the search windows.
    • You will find it helpful to familiarize yourself with the detailed instructions concerning online class offerings.
    • The most common errors in navigating the Schedule of Classes are failing to select at least one subject area in the Subject dropdown window and failing to select Graduate in the Course Level drop down window.
  4. To view only online graduate offerings in the subject area you have highlighted, select 100% Online in the Course Location window. If you do not want to restrict your search to online courses, just skip this step.
  5. Select Class Search at the bottom left of the page. Repeat the process to search for courses in other terms or other subject areas.
  6. You can search for courses in multiple subject areas at once by holding down the control (Ctrl) key on your keyboard as you scroll down and select each desired subject heading.
  7. You can select all online courses in a given semester by selecting the topmost subject heading, scrolling to the bottom of the subject list and selecting the last subject heading while holding down the shift key on your keyboard.  Then select 100% Online as the Course Location, Graduate as the Course Level, and click on the Class Search button below to create a comprehensive list of online graduate level courses for a given term.
  8. Click on Designing your Degree Program to get information about how to find the course descriptions, including the prerequisites for each course.
  9. Another way to find graduate level courses which are generally taught online is to search for online graduate level programs at Kent State University. Choose any Master’s degree program from the list, and follow the links to the program requirements, which will include a list of online courses that are part of the curriculum.
