Useful Forms and Links for Current Master of Liberal Studies Students

  • Apply to graduate online using FlashLine, which must be done by the first week of the semester in which you intend to graduate.
  • Other pertinent forms and links (change of program of study, leaves of absence and re-enrollment, extension of time limits), click on the following link, and contact the Master of Liberal Studies program coordinator: College of Arts and Sciences Graduate Policies & Forms
  • Apply for the Liberal Studies Essay Topic Approval. The Liberal Studies Essay is a lengthy (30 or more page) paper written over the course of one semester on an interdisciplinary topic related to your focus areas under the guidance of a Faculty Advisor; an oral defense is also required.  You must complete an Essay Topic Approval Form and submit it to the program coordinator for approval before you can register for LSTU 61098 Liberal Studies Essay. Since it requires preparing an outline of your Liberal Studies Essay topic and getting signatures from a Faculty Advisor and Faculty Reader for the Essay, you should begin to work on this well before the deadline for adding courses.  Detailed instructions about the Liberal Studies Essay rules and procedures are found on the form.  Please contact the Master of Liberal Studies program coordinator to receive the latest version of the approval form.
  • Apply for the Internship (LSTU 60092) option in lieu of the Liberal Studies Essay. Contact the Master of Liberal Studies program coordinator for details and the approval form, as well as the restrictions and rules related to the Internship.
