The Center for Scholastic Journalism amplifies the work of the Knight Chair in Scholastic Journalism to cultivate journalism education in middle and secondary schools in the United States. Established in 2006, the Center is part of the School of Media and Journalism at Kent State University and is supported with an endowment from the Knight Foundation.


Here are some current research regarding the state of student media programs across the country.

Scholastic media associations serve as the backbone of journalism and media education in the United States, providing workshops, conferences, contests and scholarships. Fifty state organizations support journalism students and educators across 46 states.
