From now through Dec. 15, Kent State University is collecting clean, gently used or new items of warm clothing for all ages, including coats, hats, gloves, scarves and sweaters, as part of its Winter Coat and Clothing Drive.  Melanie Knowles, manager of sustainability for Kent State, said the annual coat and clothing drive is sponsored by numerous university departments to help students and serve the Kent community, too. From Nov. 13 through Dec. 15, Kent State will be collecting clean, gently used or new items for all ages including warm clothing, hats, gloves, scarves and sweaters. Winter coat and clothing donations will go to the Winter Warm Up Stations at the Women's Center in the Williamson House, the CARES Center in the Student Center room 106; and the Phyllis Zumkehr Portage County Clothing Center, which provides items to homeless individuals, families, elderly, and veterans in need free of charge.
