One of our favorite perks as the country's only podiatric medical school affiliated with a state university is research collaboration across programs - like this one with Jason Abounader, an undergraduate student in Computer Science! Jason's paper, An Initial Study of Ingrown Toenail Removal Simulation in Virtual Reality with Bimanual Haptic Feedback for Podiatric Surgical Training won first place in the Choose Ohio first poster competition at Youngstown State University! Drs. Bryan Caldwell and Mark Hardy served as advisors on Jason's poster and authors of the publication, which is pend...

This month, Kent State will graduate its first-ever group of nine doctoral students studying Interprofessional Leadership, a fully online, first-of-its-kind program offered through the College of Education, Health and Human Services. In 2019, a development team of faculty from interested EHHS programs spent two years discussing and designing the program before securing the necessary approvals from the Ohio Department of Education. May 4 Task Group 2022 Commemoration

The May 4 Task Force is a student-led organization dedicated to honoring the memory of May 4, 1970, and shedding light on the injustices that followed. Jenna Gilbreath, ’23, had a chance encounter with Michael John Gallagher II, '19, during one of her student visit days. He gave her some great advice about her future as a Kent State student. “Michael put my mind to rest when I found out he was a global communication studies student — exactly what I planned on doing,” Jenna said. “It was his senior year, and he planned on going into the Peace Corps after he graduated.” Joining the Peace Corps was also one of Jenna’s ambitions and that conversation with Michael reassured her that she was on the right path. After thriving as a leader, amba...
