Greetings:
By the time you read this, we will have wrapped up another successful academic year on the Kent State Salem and East Liverpool campuses. The past several weeks were filled with a flurry of activities that mark the culmination of hard work by our students, faculty, administrators and staff, while also helping to define our place in the communities in which we are based.
Through my vantage point during the end-of-year awards banquets, pinning ceremonies and commencement, I can step back and watch as each event unfolds, witnessing the joy of students who have reached this end of their educational journeys; watching the pride of family members as their loved one shines in the spotlight; hearing the well-deserved applause and cheers.
Each academic year presents its own opportunities, challenges and changes. The 2023-2024 year was no different. As I reflect on the last several months, however, I am quite proud of how the members of this campus family – the faculty, staff and administrators – always work to put our students first. They provide support on so many levels and coordinate efforts to make each student succeed.
Likewise, I appreciate the tremendous amount of support our campuses continue to receive from the Salem and East Liverpool communities. I’ve been welcomed warmly by leaders from each community, and I appreciate the advice, wisdom and friendship they have offered.
Looking ahead, we are already scheduling classes and making plans for the 2024-2025 academic year. I am certain that the continued hard work by all who make the Kent State Columbiana County campuses their “homes” will result in another successful year with another class of graduates prepared to make big differences in our world.
Thank you for your continued support and interest in the Kent State Salem and East Liverpool Campuses. Enjoy your summer!
