What factors are considered in admission?
Previous courses, undergraduate GPA, letters of recommendation, essay, and resume (past experiences) are all factors in the admission decision. Both a strong qualitative and quantitative aptitude are important. International students must provide evidence of sufficient English skills. There are no set criteria that guarantee admission into the MBA program.
What is the size of the Full-time MBA program?
On average, 45 students a year.
What type of housing is available for graduate students?
There are residence halls available on campus, and also many housing options located in the city of Kent.
What type of career assistance is available?
The Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship Career Services Office (CSO) provides students with networking opportunities, internship and career searches, resume review, customized career coaching, and career development appointments and workshops. The CSO’s Employer Relations and Outreach Team partners with corporations for recruitment and hiring by connecting them with talented business students.
Is your full-time MBA accredited?
Yes, Kent State University is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The AACSB is one of the most prestigious and rigorous accrediting bodies in higher education. Kent State University's Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship first earned AACSB accreditation in 1964. Fewer than 20% of the business schools world-wide have earned AACSB accreditation..
If I have a business degree or have taken several business courses, may I be waived out of any courses?
Up to 7 credits may be waived if the applicant has attended an AACSB accredited institution and earned an undergraduate degree in the functional area or completed the equivalent graduate course within the last 10 years, with grade of "B" or better.
If my undergraduate degree is not business, will I have trouble with the coursework?
To gain a basic understanding of the subject matter, new students start with webinars in accounting, statistics, economics, finance and spreadsheet usage. In addition, the MBA courses are carefully sequenced, building on each other, so by following prerequisites, all students (regardless of your major) are well positioned to successfully complete the MBA program.
