This sign marks the spot along the Portage Hike and Bike Trail in Kent where Cuyahoga River dredging work is happening.

Members of the Kent State University community who enjoy kayaking along the Cuyahoga River or taking a walk or jog along the adjacent Portage Hike and Bike Trail may have noticed the river dredging work near Fred Fuller Park in Kent.  The work, which began in September, is expected to take about three months. Kent State University’s School of Fashion held its first show ever during New York Fashion Week this fall with a creative partnership. Kent State University invited International Fashion Academy (IFA) Paris and International Migration Organization (IMO) to join them with the goal of bringing awareness to the world’s most prestigious fashion schools and the impact of global cultures. Global wedding traditions are showcased in an exhibition at the Kent State Museum.

"As the World Weds: Global Wedding Traditions, " an exhibition at the Kent State University Museum, displays a range of beautiful, lavish and deeply symbolic clothing from wedding ceremonies around the world. Traditional clothing for both men and women are included in the contributions from the museum's rich holdings as well as pieces from private collections.  The exhibition runs from Sept. 16, 2022, through Aug. 27, 2023. Na’Tasha Evans, assistant professor of Health Education and Promotion in the School of Health Sciences, has been selected to serve as the 2022-2023 Strategic Planning Fellow for the Anti-Racism and Equity Institute.
