Their Story Montana was one of the first people I met when transferring to Kent in Spring 2017 to complete my Music Education degree. Before I student taught, Montana and I had a night class together and would often talk after. I ended up student teaching at her alma mater, and would go out for drinks after evening rehearsals. Research from Dr. William Lechner and Dr. Deric Kenne was featured in WKBN, a local news source from Youngstown, Ohio. The piece features a brief interview from Dr. Lechner and highlights the implications of the research findings, specifically that the increase in alcohol use will not subside with the end of the pandemic. This important research was first published in Addictive Behaviors in November 2020 and has provided important insight into impact of the pandemic on the health and behaviors of college students. Their Story We met Spring semester 1992 in the education sophomore practicum block. I had just joined a sorority and he was in a fraternity, so we would talk about Greek life. The following semester, Fall 1992, we saw each other at a Greek event and have been together ever since. We celebrated our 25th anniversary in June 2020. Their Story Richard was commuting from Akron. I was living on campus. We met at a required philosophy class at 8 AM, probably the only early class I had in 4 years! Dr. Politela seated the students alphabetically so we were assigned adjoining seats. Richard's arms were scarred with fresh scratches immediately recognizable to a cat lover. He had a kitten at home and I really missed my cat so we had something to talk about but I had already been struck by the thunderbolt. Their Story We met through a mutual friend on campus. I was a tour guide and he was a student manager for Prentice Cafe. We started dating in 2007, right before I went to NYC with the fashion school for a semester.  The Proposal and Marriage In 2010, we went on a little Vacation to Chicago, where my family is from.
