This fall the Center for Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services welcomed Julius Payne as our new Program Coordinator. Julius’ primary responsibility will be in overseeing prevention education efforts with students. He will coordinate Green Dot, our bystander movement, and our incoming student education program. The Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) systemically gathers data for interpretation and analytic reporting that relates to diversity initiatives. The LGBTQ+ Center’s Safe Space Ally Training is one of those initiatives. Upward Bound Senior Celebration 2019

In the fall, over 100 Upward Bound students visited Kent State’s campus on two separate occasions to investigate college majors and careers, led by faculty and staff through our University partnerships. On April 17, 2020, from 6:00-8:30 pm, the Kent State LGBTQ+ Center will be celebrating the eighth Lavender Graduation ceremony in the Kent Student Center Ballroom. Lavender Graduation is a pre-commencement dinner celebration that honors the achievements of Kent State University LGBTQ+ graduates.
