(Warren, OH) Few are feeling the repercussions of COVID-19 more than nursing home residents. To help lift their spirits, Kent State University at Trumbull nursing students are writing them greeting cards. A recent study by Dr. William Lechner, Department of Psychological Sciences, and colleagues in the Center for Public Policy and Health in the College of Public Health at Kent State University has been listed in the World Health Organization’s Global Literature on Coronavirus Disease database. The study found that following the closure of university campuses, alcohol consumption increased over time, with students who reported greater symptoms of psychological distress also reporting greater increases in alcohol consumption overall.
