Ms. Kayleigh Crumb has been an excellent choice as the first student to receive the recently endowed ‘Elizabeth Z. Bartz Scholarship for Howland Tigers,’ given to a graduate of Howland High School and entering Kent State University at Trumbull Campus as a freshman. Ms. Crumb received the 2016 scholarship award last Fall, after graduating from high school, and enrolling at the KSU Trumbull campus. Two students received Best in Show honors as well as winning the Dean’s Choice Awards during the April 20 Kent State University at Tuscarawas 13th annual Student Computer Designed Art Exhibition. The art expo was held at the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts in New Philadelphia. Leslie Oakes won Best in Show for her artwork, “Lucifer- The Fallen Angel.” Oakes is a junior majoring in the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology with a concentration in Computer Design, Animation and Game Design.
