Brianne Tierney has been named Kent State University's first head coach for women's lacrosse. Tabbed to start Kent State's lacrosse program, Tierney brings a wealth of experience across all levels of collegiate lacrosse and has been around the sport her entire life. Kent State University has received a $2.5 million gift for its Shannon Rodgers and Jerry Silverman School of Fashion Design and Merchandising from the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation of Hudson, Ohio. Christopher Fenk thinks science should be accessible to everyone. Through his research on using cell phones as lab equipment, Fenk is striving to provide classrooms with affordable alternatives to equipment that can typically cost anywhere from $1,200 to $2,000 per piece. Fenk, a professor in the Department of Chemistry at Kent State University at Tuscarawas, used his faculty sabbatical to enhance the learning experience of others.
