Jason Zibart knew he wanted a career in public health when he chose Kent State. As a non-traditional student, he searched for a program that would best suit him and found his home in Health Services Administration. Jason was already working in a hospital and wanted to help patients before they ended up there. Today, he’s changing the industry. Jason is currently a Care Coordinator at Tuscon Medical Center and is building a program at Tucson aimed at patient care. The program will utilize a care coordinator to provide patients with the best community-based resources and treatment options. ...

Lauren Malthaner, ’15, M.P.H. ’17 is Research Associate at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. The Walls Community Garden was awarded the Kent State University Outstanding New Service Initiative in 2018. The Garden was recognized for understanding the needs of the community and making a distinct impact on it. In addition, the Garden offers opportunities for others in the community to get involved.  The Community Garden was created to bring the community together to share resources and knowledge. When he saw what appeared to be an injured goose, he sprang into action.  “The goose’s body was on the shore but its head was in the water. The Williamson House is the home of the SRVSS and the Women's Center.

After fears that the Williamson House, home of Kent State University’s Women’s Center, might be coming down were put to rest, relief was not the only thing that the center’s staff found.
