Kent State University will hold its Fall Commencement ceremonies for the Kent Campus on Friday, Dec. 15, and Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center). Kent State will confer 2,320 degrees, including 1,824 bachelor’s degrees, 456 master’s degrees, 37 doctoral degrees and three educational specialist degrees. Kent State University at Tuscarawas student and councilman-at-large Eric Harmon, 19, is currently the youngest elected official in the state of Ohio and will be the youngest person ever to serve on Uhrichsville City Council when his term officially begins in January. Devin was from Cleveland, Ohio, and was studying journalism in the College of Communication and Information. The Kent State University Airport collected almost 8,000 pounds of food, which translates into more than 10,000 meals for the dogs and cats at the local animal shelters.

Every holiday season, people give back to their communities in numerous ways. At the Kent State University Airport, they give back through the Props-4-Paws initiative, a donation drive for the Humane Society of Summit County and the Animal Protective League of Portage County (APL). Thanks to our collective efforts over the 2016 holiday break, the university avoided more than $30,000 in energy costs over 11 days.
